

About Space Coast Ballet
From gorgeous classical ballets that have captivated audiences for centuries to the latest masterpieces by today’s best choreographers, the SCB is committed to present its unique vision of live performance to the Space Coast community, sparing no detail to achieve perfection in every area of the production. SCB began in 2003 when former Kirov Ballet Dancers, Boris Chepelev and Janna Kirova moved to Brevard. SCB performs world-class productions at the venerable King Center and features orchestral accompaniment by the Brevard Symphony Orchestra.
Boris Chepelev was born in Russia and educated at the Ballet Academy (With Distinction). Upon his graduation in 1983, he was a principal dancer at the Maly Theater in St. Petersburg, Russia. From 1988 to 1994 Boris was a soloist in the Kirov Ballet Company. From 1994 until 2001 he was a principal dancer and teacher with several companies in Europe, also performing “The Phantom of the Opera” in Hamburg, Germany.
Janna Kirova was born in Russia and educated at the world famous Vaganova Ballet Academy. From 1989 she was a soloist in the Kirov Ballet Company. Janna performed numerous solo roles in productions of “Giselle”, “Swan Lake”, “The Nutcracker” and “Sleeping Beauty” and as a principal dancer with several companies in Europe. From 1999 till 2001 she was a guest teacher at the Stella Academy in Hamburg, Germany.
Space Coast Ballet performances include roles danced by world-renowned stars of the ballet world.
At only 21, Yevgenia’s Obraztsova has danced numerous roles at the Marinsky, including the title role in “Romeo and Juliet.” Winner of the gold medal last year at the Moscow International Competition, she has danced in Paris and Baltimore and is striking out in the movies with a role in “Russian Dolls” directed by Cedric Klapisch. Yevgenia’s made her debut as Aurora on the King Center stage in Space Coast Ballet’s spring performance of “Sleeping Beauty.”
Vladimir Shklyarov, prize-winner at the International Competition, joined the Marinsky Theater in 2003. He has already performed as the Prince in “Sleeping Beauty” and many solo parts including “La Sylphide,” “Giselle,” “Swan Lake” and others
